About the project
For the new production hall in Vrancea, KRONTAB delivered the low-voltage electrical infrastructure required to supply and distribute power to the loads associated with the technological process.
The solution includes a 1600 A Main Low-Voltage Switchboard (TEG), two sub-distribution switchboards rated at 630 A and 400 A, and a 300 kVAr automatic reactive power compensation bank.
The system configuration is designed to ensure safe and efficient power distribution, selective circuit protection and power factor optimization, tailored to the requirements of an industrial application.
The switchboards are equipped with Schneider Electric components, selected for performance, reliability and operational safety.

Implemented solution
The Main Low-Voltage Switchboard, rated at 1600 A, is the primary power supply and distribution point for the loads within the production hall.
The configuration integrates the distribution and protection equipment, together with the systems required for operation and monitoring of the installation. The functional organization of the circuits enables power distribution to the secondary switchboards and the main categories of loads.
The solution was designed for operational safety, protection selectivity and easy access for inspection and maintenance, contributing to continuity of power supply for the technological process.
Schneider Electric equipment provides a robust solution tailored to the requirements of an industrial installation.
Two sub-distribution switchboards, rated at 630 A and 400 A, were installed to distribute power to the different categories of loads.
Each switchboard is configured according to the installed power and the characteristics of the loads it serves, integrating the equipment required for distribution and circuit protection.
The solution ensures functional separation of the loads and coordination of protection devices, so that a potential fault on a secondary circuit has minimal impact on the rest of the installation.
The clear organization of the equipment and circuits facilitates operation, inspection and maintenance, while Schneider Electric equipment contributes to the reliability of the entire distribution system.
To optimize the energy performance of the installation, a 300 kVAr automatic reactive power compensation bank was installed for power factor correction of the production hall loads.
The system provides automatic stepped compensation, adjusting the reactive power supplied according to load variations and the actual requirements of the installation.
By maintaining an appropriate power factor, the solution helps reduce reactive power flow, minimize losses within the internal network and improve the efficient use of the electrical installation capacity.
The integration of the compensation bank into the distribution system therefore contributes to improved energy efficiency and helps avoid costs associated with reactive energy consumption.
The electrical switchboards were manufactured in a configuration tailored to the technical requirements of the project, with a focus on functional distribution layout, accessibility of the equipment and operational safety.
The manufacturing process includes verification of connections and circuits, identification and labeling of components, and functional testing before delivery.
The solution is supplied with the relevant technical documentation to facilitate operation, maintenance and any future interventions on the installation.
