About the project
As part of the project to modernise the Neonatology Department at Alba Iulia County Emergency Hospital, KRONTAB supplied the switchboards required for the distribution of power to standard loads, critical loads and the equipment in the intensive care unit.
The solution comprises three switchboards, configured according to the role and criticality level of the connected loads: a 250 A switchboard for standard loads, a 160 A switchboard for critical loads and a dedicated switchboard for the intensive care unit.
Dividing the power distribution into consumer categories allows for a clear organisation of the electrical installation and the prioritisation of circuits essential to medical operations. In a setting such as the Neonatal Unit, where the operation of medical equipment and auxiliary systems is directly dependent on the availability of electricity, the safety and continuity of the power supply are essential elements of the technical solution.

The 250 A switchboard provides electrical power distribution to the normal loads serving the Neonatology Department and acts as the main distribution point for circuits that are not classified as essential loads.

A dedicated switchboard rated at 160 A was installed for the equipment and systems that play an essential role in medical activities.

The switchboard provides distribution and protection for priority circuits and is designed to supply loads for which electrical power availability is important to the continuity of medical activities.
A dedicated electrical switchboard was installed for the Intensive Care Unit, configured according to the specific requirements of the medical systems and equipment it serves.
The switchboard provides distribution and protection for circuits serving the ICU area, contributing to controlled power supply and separation from the department’s other circuit categories.
