About the project
As part of the modernization project for the Gorj County Police Inspectorate, KRONTAB delivered the electrical switchboards required to upgrade the building’s low-voltage distribution infrastructure.
The solution was designed to ensure safe and efficient electrical power distribution, adapted to the institution’s current operating requirements and the different categories of loads.
The project included a 400 A Main Electrical Switchboard (TEG), providing the main power distribution, together with 4 floor sub-distribution switchboards, each rated at 100 A, supplying the loads and installations associated with the different levels of the building.
The switchboards were built using the Schneider Electric PrismaSeT system and equipped with Schneider Electric components for distribution, protection, metering and the auxiliary functions required by the application.
With this configuration, the existing electrical infrastructure was modernized through a modular, structured solution designed for easy operation and maintenance.

Implemented solution
The Main Electrical Switchboard is the building’s primary low-voltage distribution point, supplying the sub-distribution switchboards and the main categories of loads.
The TEG is rated at 400 A and integrates the equipment required for electrical power distribution, protection and measurement of the installation’s electrical parameters.
The internal configuration is arranged in a modular structure, with clear organization of equipment and circuits, facilitating identification, inspection and access for maintenance operations.
Through appropriate separation and protection of the circuits, the switchboard helps limit the effects of a potential fault and maintain operation of the unaffected areas of the installation.
The main distribution system is complemented by 4 sub-distribution switchboards, each rated at 100 A, installed to supply the loads and systems associated with the different floors of the building.
These switchboards provide local power distribution to lighting circuits, socket circuits and other loads specific to the areas served, depending on the installation configuration.
Each switchboard integrates the equipment required for circuit distribution and protection, with clear identification of outgoing feeders and an internal layout designed to facilitate operation and technical interventions.
Distribution by floor allows the installation to be divided into functional sections, so that inspections, maintenance work or other interventions can be carried out locally with minimal impact on the remaining areas of the building.
The implemented solution is designed to provide a clear, safe electrical distribution system adapted to the building’s structure, from the 400 A TEG to the floor sub-distribution switchboards.
The equipment provides protection against overloads and short circuits, together with the additional protection functions required for the circuits and loads served.
Coordination between the main and secondary distribution systems allows the installation to be organized into functional areas and contributes to increased operational safety and reliability.
The main switchboard integrates equipment for measuring and monitoring relevant electrical parameters, providing technical personnel with the information required to supervise the operation of the installation.
Integrating metering functions into the main distribution system allows better assessment of operating conditions and facilitates the identification of potential abnormal situations.
This functionality complements the distribution and protection functions and contributes to controlled operation of the modernized electrical infrastructure.
